An up and down week

Here is Sydnee’s email to everyone.  She seems to have had a very up and down week.  Struggles, frustration, disappointments, lack of motivation at times.  I told her in non-missionary life, I call that just another Tuesday.   Anyway, here is her report from this week:

This week was a little rough around the edges but no worries the Lord always provides. Also there is no witness until after a trial of your faith…aka this week. Friday was not my best day as a missionary and Sister Balls and I struggled to get through weekly planning. After a phone call to our wise district leader we decided to take a 20 minute break and then proceed. After the 20 minute break it was non stop miracles. We left our apartment and immediately ran into an old investigator who we have not been able to contact for sometime. Then we went to a members house who we have not been able to meet with the whole time I’ve been in Bamberg. We were waiting to ring her doorbell when she came out of her house and talked to her about setting up an appointment. We found a street in Bamberg called hell and we doored it. We then proceeded home and tried to figure out where we were going to get dinner. We tried to decide for about 20 minutes and then started heading towards this Mexican restaurant that I had seen my first transfer. Sister balls and I proceeded down the long zollnernstrasse until we saw the one and only guy who stopped. Then we showed him the easter video. We were able to bear testimony and then he told us he is actually a member from Taiwan. He hasn’t been active for a while and we invited him to watch conference and to come to church on Sunday. He said he would think about it. Hopefully we will see him in Sunday.

Saturday we were able to watch General Conference. We watched the Saturday morning session at 6 our time since Utah is 8 hours behind Germany. It was really good. Sunday we watched general conference all day in Erlangen and hung out with other missionaries. Monday we did service at a members house and we did yard work! Woo! It was kind of weird to do something as normal as yard work. This week I have been able to see a lot of miracles not just with our investigators but in my life as a missionary as well. I’ve been personally studying Ether in the Book of Mormon. Ether 12:27 has been a favorite of mine for a long time but recently has brought me comfort. I invite y’all to read it. The church is true. Sorry this is a quick email but there are so many castles to see here and not enough pdays. Have a good week!!

Love,

Sister Spencer
